Senator Judy Ward and Representative Lou Schmitt are set to conduct a stormwater management workshop for property owners. The event, organized in partnership with the Blair County Conservation District (BCCD), aims to educate residents on effective stormwater management practices.

Scheduled for Thursday, April 20, from 6-8 p.m., the workshop will take place at the Logan Township Municipal Building located at 100 Chief Logan Circle.

Senator Ward highlighted the significance of addressing stormwater issues, stating, "Stormwater runoff is a common problem in our region and throughout Pennsylvania, and elected officials receive many calls and complaints about the impacts of that runoff, which causes flooding, property damage, erosion, and pollution to our waterways. These challenges are complex, and each situation is unique."

The BCCD will cover various topics during the program, including an overview of stormwater and its regulations as well as property owners' responsibilities.

Representative Schmitt emphasized the value of this educational opportunity: "This is a great opportunity for people who own property, both small and large parcels, to learn about efforts to manage stormwater and, more importantly, what they can do to manage runoff on their property. With so many knowledgeable people leading the discussion, attendees will leave with new-found information."

Due to limited seating availability for the event, interested participants must RSVP in advance by calling Schmitt’s office at 814-946-7218 or visiting RepLouSchmitt.com under the events tab.
