State Senator Judy Ward and State Representative Kerry Benninghoff have announced the allocation of $650,000 in Local Share Amount (LSA) grants to three municipalities in Mifflin County. The funding aims to support various local projects.
Representative Benninghoff emphasized the importance of these grants, stating, "I’m glad Sen. Ward and I were able to work together to secure this highly competitive funding for the citizens we serve in Mifflin County. These grants are important investments in the safety and quality of life for residents of all ages."
Senator Ward highlighted the significance of the LSA grant program, noting that it serves as a crucial resource for municipalities aiming to enhance or repair essential infrastructure such as water, sewer, or transportation systems. She remarked, "While the grants are very competitive and not all projects are able to be funded, the projects funded this round are well-deserving and will improve quality of life for the local communities."
The Commonwealth Financing Authority approved and awarded these grants. This independent agency is responsible for managing funds related to Pennsylvania's economic development initiatives. The LSA grants originate from gaming revenues.
