State grant funding exceeding $3.7 million has been allocated to the 85th Legislative District through the Local Share Account (LSA) and Public School Facility Improvement Grant (PSFIG) programs, according to Representative David Rowe. The funds aim to enhance services and facilities benefiting district residents.
"The dollars from these grants will make critical investments in services and facilities that directly benefit residents of our district," stated Rowe. He emphasized that "LSA grants are funded by Pennsylvania’s gaming revenue, not taxpayer dollars." Rowe expressed enthusiasm about the potential community impact and his role in securing the funding.
The allocation of these state funds was a collaborative effort involving Rowe and Senators Judy Ward and Lynda Schlegel-Culver. Ward noted, "The statewide Local Share Account (LSA) grant program is a vital tool for municipalities as they seek to improve or repair critical water, sewer, or transportation infrastructure or meet other unique needs." She acknowledged the competitive nature of these grants but praised the funded projects as deserving.
Culver added, "It is grants like these that help make large projects that might otherwise be unaffordable for local governments and authorities happen." She highlighted the positive impact on Snyder County residents due to state financial support.
The Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA), an independent agency responsible for overseeing funding programs aimed at economic growth in Pennsylvania, approved this funding. Inquiries regarding these grants can be directed to Representative Rowe's office at 570-837-0052.
