Bridge dedication to honor Pvt. Clyde C. McVitty in Orrstown
A ceremony will be held to dedicate the bridge carrying State Route 997 over Conodoguinet Creek in Letterkenny Township as the Pvt. Clyde C. McVitty Memorial Bridge. McVitty served with the 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd “All-American” Airborne Division and was killed in action during the Anzio Beach landing on February 9, 1944. Representative Rich Irvin (R-Franklin/Huntingdon) authored the bill naming the bridge.
