Rep. Rich Irvin, representing the 81st Legislative District in Pennsylvania, is hosting a Seniors for Safe Driving class on Friday, May 31, in Shippensburg. The program is designed to help motorists aged 55 and older sharpen their driving skills and potentially qualify for a discount on their auto insurance premiums.

“This is a great class in which participants always walk away with valuable information and some helpful driving tips geared specifically for older motorists,” said Irvin. “I encourage all interested drivers to register for the class.”

The Seniors for Safe Driving program, approved by PennDOT, aims to equip older drivers with the knowledge to adjust their driving techniques and habits to address the challenges they may face on the road. The course is open to individuals aged 55 and older, with no on-the-road driving required and no exam to be taken. Upon completion, participants may be eligible to receive a minimum 5% discount on their auto insurance premiums for three years.

Individuals interested in attending the class can register online at SeniorsForSafeDriving.com or by calling 1-800-559-4880. The cost for the class is $17. For further information, inquiries can be directed to Irvin’s district office at 814-644-2996.
