Pennsylvania Senators Maria Collett and Judy Ward have unveiled a 10-year roadmap aimed at better meeting the needs of older Pennsylvanians. The plan, titled Aging Our Way, PA: A Plan for Lifelong Independence, is currently open for public comment until March 20, 2024.

Sen. Collett emphasized the importance of the plan, stating, "Every Pennsylvanian deserves to live and age with dignity." She praised the comprehensive and innovative nature of the plan, which is designed to help older and disabled Pennsylvanians stay in their homes and communities, receive caregiver support, and access necessary services and resources. Aging Our Way, PA was developed by the Pennsylvania Department of Aging in partnership with the state's Aging Network, including 52 Area Agencies on Aging and associated senior centers. The plan's five key priorities were identified through stakeholder feedback gathered during over 200 Listening Sessions conducted across all 67 counties in Pennsylvania.

Residents, particularly older adults and caregivers, are encouraged to share their feedback on the draft plan through various channels provided by the Department of Aging. Public comment will remain open until March 20, 2024, allowing individuals to contribute their perspectives to shape the future of senior care in Pennsylvania.
