Rep. Rich Irvin is organizing two events for residents of Huntingdon and Shippensburg to replace damaged or unreadable license plates. "These events are for anyone who has a faded, peeling or otherwise unreadable or damaged license plate to get a free replacement," stated Irvin. The gatherings will feature local sheriff's officers assisting with necessary paperwork, and new plates will be distributed from Irvin's offices after processing by PennDOT.
Participants should bring their unexpired Pennsylvania driver's license and current vehicle registration card. The first event is scheduled for Thursday, August 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Smithfield Fire Hall in Huntingdon, with the collaboration of Huntingdon County Sheriff Jeff Leonard.
The second event will occur on Friday, August 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Southampton Township Municipal Building in Shippensburg. Franklin County Sheriff Ben Sites will be present, and car seat safety checks will also be available.
Residents unable to attend can apply for a replacement plate using PennDOT form MV-46 at any time. Completed forms require signing by law enforcement or certified safety inspectors before submission to Irvin’s district offices.
