Rep. Rich Irvin and Sen. Doug Mastriano have announced a $450,000 grant for improvements at the Shippensburg Area Middle School campus. The funding is provided by the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s Multimodal Fund and will be used to construct a new access road at the school in Shippensburg Borough.

"Student safety is always the top priority, which is why this funding was requested," stated Irvin. He emphasized that better management of vehicle traffic will benefit students, parents, school employees, and area commuters. Irvin expressed satisfaction in collaborating with Sen. Mastriano to secure this funding.

Sen. Mastriano shared his support for the initiative after witnessing traffic issues firsthand during a visit to Shippensburg Middle School. "The grant will help Shippensburg School District construct a new access road to alleviate traffic concerns and facilitate the safe travel of students and pedestrians between the high school and middle school," he said.

The Commonwealth Financing Authority’s Multimodal Transportation Fund aims to encourage economic development while ensuring a safe transportation system for Pennsylvania residents.
