State Rep. Louis Schmitt Jr. | Pennsylvania 79th Legislative District
Rep. Lou Schmitt has officially commenced his fourth term in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, representing the 78th Legislative District. The swearing-in ceremony took place with his colleagues present, marking another chapter in his legislative career.
Schmitt expressed gratitude towards the residents of Altoona, Tunnelhill, and Logan and Alleghany townships for their continued support. "As in year’s past, the swearing-in ceremony today was a time to renew my commitment to making sure the people of Altoona, Tunnelhill and Logan and Alleghany townships are well represented in the House," he stated. He emphasized his dedication to resisting unnecessary spending increases that could lead to tax hikes.
Entering this session with a narrow one-seat minority, Schmitt voiced optimism about collaborating with House Democrats, the Senate, and the governor on pressing issues facing Pennsylvanians. "As lawmakers, our ultimate goal must always be to leave our great state in a better place than when we were first elected to serve," he remarked.
