House Republican Leader Jesse Topper commenced the new state legislative session on Tuesday by taking the oath of office in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. Topper, representing Bedford and Fulton counties, expressed gratitude to his constituents for re-electing him.

"I cannot thank the people of Bedford and Fulton counties enough for returning me to office," Topper stated. "The trust they have placed in me to serve them is never lost in my work. Serving as the state representative for the place where I grew up and continue to call home is the greatest professional honor of my life."

Reflecting on his new role as House Republican leader, Topper highlighted the opportunities that lie ahead. "I have always viewed service in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as more than just a job – it is a calling," he remarked.

He assured his commitment to representing community interests despite changes in his role within the House. "While my role in the House of Representatives has changed, my calling to represent our communities has not. I will continue to do my best to make sure the voices of you and our neighbors are heard loud and clear in Harrisburg."
