The Allegheny Township Police Department has secured funding for two new police cruisers, thanks to the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA). This was announced by Representative Lou Schmitt and Senator Judy Ward.

"Officers deserve the equipment they need to continue to serve and protect the public," stated Schmitt. "This funding gives them the means to do that, and I thank the CFA for recognizing the importance of it."

The funding, amounting to $131,605, will be used to purchase and equip two new vehicles. These will replace older models that have been costly to maintain.

Senator Ward highlighted the significance of the Local Share Account (LSA) grant program: "The statewide Local Share Account (LSA) grant program is a vital tool for municipalities as they seek to improve or repair critical water, sewer, or transportation infrastructure or meet other unique needs. While the grants are very competitive and not all projects are able to be funded, the projects funded this round are well-deserving and will improve quality of life for the local communities."

Projects eligible for LSA funding through the CFA must benefit public interest and aim at enhancing community life.
