Senator Judy Ward announced a $3,000,000 grant from the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) for renovations at the Blair Regional YMCA Early Learning Center. The funds will support construction and renovation projects aimed at enhancing childcare facilities.

"Childcare is a particularly challenging issue for many families today," stated Ward. She emphasized the importance of the YMCA's quality childcare programs, which offer a safe environment for local families. "This funding will support the renovation and expansion of the YMCA’s facilities to enhance its PA state-licensed childcare center as well as its health, wellness programs, and youth programs," she added.

The project includes approximately 20,000 square feet of additions and renovations to house eleven classrooms catering to children from infancy to school age. The improvements will feature interior finishes, a new roof, updated mechanical systems, electrical and plumbing upgrades, and enhanced security measures.

The RACP is a $3.1 billion initiative managed by the Office of the Budget that provides grants for projects with economic or cultural significance in their communities.
