Graduates earn 345 degrees, certificates from Pennsylvania State University-Penn State Altoona

About 22.3 percent of the 345 degrees and certificates handed out by Pennsylvania State University-Penn State Altoona in 2017-18 were to students in engineering programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Altoona conferred 62 bachelor's degrees and 15 certificates in engineering programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in electrical and electronics engineering. Data shows the school gave out 56 bachelor's degrees in electrical and electronics engineering, followed by 52 bachelor's degrees in registered nursing, nursing administration, nursing research and other clinical nursing and 28 bachelor's degrees in criminal justice/safety studies.

The university enrolled 3,244 students for 2017-18, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
