House Republican leaders in Pennsylvania announced on June 2 a plan aimed at protecting residents from increases in electricity rates due to rising demand on the power grid. The announcement was made ahead of a press event scheduled for June 3 at noon, to be held at the Ryan Office Building Atrium in the Pennsylvania State Capitol, Harrisburg.

House Republican Leader Jesse Topper of Bedford and Fulton counties, along with Representative Craig Williams of Delaware and Chester counties and other House Republican members, are set to discuss details of the proposed plan. The event will also be available for live streaming through PAHouseGOP.com/livestreams.

The initiative comes as concerns grow about potential unfair price hikes affecting Pennsylvanians’ utility bills. Media contact for further information is Will Patterson, who can be reached at 267-688-2590 or wpatterson@pahousegop.com. Additional updates are available on RepCraigWilliams.com and Facebook.com/RepCraigWilliams.

Topper has served as a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives since his election in 2014 and currently holds the position of Republican chairman of the House Education Committee, according to the official website. He is a lifelong resident of Bedford County, graduated from Frostburg State University and Bedford High School, assists constituents with services such as property tax rebates and veterans benefits, and is also noted as being the father of two sons.

Further information about Topper’s background and legislative activities can be found on his official website.
